The question of faith is also discussed in the movie. The character of the Imam is also featured in the sequel of the movie The Chronicles of Riddick The imam also dies in the sequel.

Just got the complete collection on DVD, Keith David, respectfully protays an upright and honorable imam. A refreshing change.
